CBSE declares AIEEE 2012 results; Delhi student tops with 346 out of 360

The result of the 11th All India Engineering /Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE) conducted by CBSE was declared on Saturday at 1.00 AM. The candidates can view their all-India rank and State rank on the CBSE website: www.cbse.nic.in orwww.aieee.nic.in .

This year, 11,37,256 candidates registered for Paper-I for B.E./B.Tech, out of which 10,61,854 candidates appeared. For Paper-ll, for B.Arch/B.Planning 83,049 candidates registered out of which 71,316 candidates appeared.

This year, the candidates of General category, OBC category, SC/ST category and Physically Handicapped candidates of all categories who obtained 48 marks, 45 marks, 18 marks and 18 marks respectively are deemed eligible to fill in their choices for online counseling for B.E/B.Tech. and B.Arch/B.Planning which will be conducted by the Central Counseling Board-2012.

The top score of this year’s All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Exam (AIEEE) is 346 out of 360, one mark more than last year’s top score.

The AIEEE determines entry to more than 26,000 seats at colleges across the country. “The performance is around the same as last year,” said Vineet Joshi, chairperson of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which conducts the exam. For the first time, the board made the optical response sheets available online for verification. Joshi said they had received around 86 requests for verification so far.

Of around 11 lakh candidates who wrote the exam, 4.1 lakh crossed the cut-off mark of 48, and are eligible for the next phase of online counseling.
