IITian bags Rs. 70 lakh offer from Twitter

An IITian from Delhi Swapnil Jain, 22 years, bagged an offer of Rs. 70 lakh by the $ 9 billion US firm after the final round of interview in last month. He received this offer from top notch software company, the social networking site Twitter. He appeared in seven rounds of interview to crack this opportunity- all lasted for 40-45 minutes.


He said, "Sitting in Delhi on a computer, I was trying my best to reply to the queries of software engineers of Twitter." After some rounds of technical interview he got that news that company is hiring him. He further added, "Later they mailed me the offer letter signed by the chief technical officer of Twitter with an annual package of $1,30,000 per annum. Inclusive of bonus, it is about Rs 70 lakh." 

He will join the company in the first week of October at San Francisco headquarters of Twitter. There he would report to a manager of Indian origin. He has completed his graduation from IIT Delhi. He said, "First, I would like to work for 3-4 years to gain experience by interacting with them. After all they are the experienced lot," he said adding that later he was planning to start his own software company. "I want to do something that would be of their standard."

The road towards his success was not easy, for the same post 30 people had applied and he is the one who finally made it. Some of his friends from IIT Delhi are joining Facebook and Google in October.
